It’s that time again!
This month’s A Lot on your Plate’s “Use What You’ve Got” Category is: Cake!

Cake!
How It Works: Simply, leave a comment below with a link to one of your cupcake recipe’s that you have chosen to enter into the bake-off. The recipes entered will be judged on simplicity (prep time, active time, ingredients, etc…) and the photo of the finished product, itself. The recipe will NOT be based on the quality of the photo. (1) winner will be chosen, but all will be recognized. The winning cupcake recipe will be posted in its entirety, photos, links and all, and baker will be notified and will receive a prize hand-picked by yours truly. All bloggers that submit a recipe will be acknowledged in the winner’s post with a link to their recipe entered, minus the photos and the prize.
The beauty of this bake-off is that it’s ”use what you’ve got”. I realize that people live busy lives and might not have the time to bake a new recipe from scratch for a bake-off, so you can use one of your old posts to enter (or a brand new one if you feel up to it and have the time).
To Enter: Leave a comment below with a link to one of your posts, new or old. The cake recipe MUST be your own and not a re-blog.
This bake-off will run for 2 weeks. Again, the recipes will be judged on the simplicity of the recipe and the photo of the finished product supplied, NOT the quality of the photo, itself.
Be sure to have fun with this, you have nothing to lose, just acknowledgment of your awesome recipes to gain!

This is my favorite cupcake recipe because it tastes so great and travels well. I featured it in the post “Insomnia”. It’s a butter recipe cake filled with a mixture of an old fashioned buttercream and chopped fresh strawberries. http://bringmemycoffee.com/2012/04/24/insomnia/
Yay! Looking forward to another contest. This gives me an excuse to bake a whole cake too

Delicious competition! Don’t think I’ve done a cake, though. I’m more of a cupcake sort of girl. Maybe by the end of the month I will have something to contribute. For now I will just enjoy the deliciousness. Otherwise, as the lovely lady above said, you might have to settle for a cupcake.

Oh, almost missed the challenge this month… so glad l managed to enter before the deadline!
Only question now is which cake to enter!! My Kit Kat and M&M cake is the most popular one on my blog but I think I’ll go for my husband’s favorite one – Coconut cake – as it is light as a feather, incredibly easy to make and everyone who’s tried it loves it. Enjoy!
