Today’s “A Good Cause” is dedicated to those we lost on September 11, as well as the people who lived through the traumatic event, the brave men and women who selflessly gave their services helping those who needed it, and my friend Alison who’s life is forever changed by this heartless act.
I feel that is important to continue to stay strong and positive for those continue to heal from this awful event. That is where 911day.org comes in.
911day.org is brilliant movement dedicated to remembering and honoring this day in a positive way. Instead of dwelling on the negativity and hurt that the date September 11th brings, this movement promotes people remembering through positive action whether its collecting toys, planting trees, telling your family members what they mean to you, or just saying thank you to your service men and women.
Below is a video that gives a little insight on what the 911day movement is all about.
This has such an amazing, positive energy behind the idea. It does not matter whether you are from New York, or even this country, it is never too late to pay it forward and do something nice for your community today.
There are many ways you can show your support for the families of September 11th and more than 1 million people did so by volunteering last year!
To read more about 911day.org, click this link to register through your Facebook and join the movement. With a minimum donation of $25 dollars to support the 911day movement, you will receive a free unisex, tan t-shirt with the words “I Will” on it. (All t-shirts will be shipped after September 11th).
There is also a virtual quilt on 911day.org in which there, you can see all the good deeds posted by members of the community that show what they will do today to remember.

I remember exactly where I was the morning of September 11th and I will never forget it. The pain this event caused my family and friends was unbearable. It was scary not knowing what was happening at the time and what was next to come. But, out of the darkness of that morning, came a force much stronger then I knew existed within each state and each other, because I had not seen it for myself before. It was that day, that I watched our nation come together and prove that United we truly do stand no matter what and that together, we can all act as one powerful unit to see each other through anything.
“Be the change you wish to see in the world” – Mahatma Gandhi
By sharing our love and time we can certainly make a difference.
We will never forget,
